Lilly Pads

On October 4, my dear friend Katie posted on her blog; Keeping Up with Katie; posted a blog about Adopt a Shelter Dog! I can't thank Katie enough for what this blog post meant to me & Regan. Regan & I aren't ready for children yet, but we have so much love to give. This sparked us into getting another dog for Neo to have a buddy & another dog for us to share our love with!

Regan went that day to the Greenville Humane Society to look at what pups they had that needed a good home to go to.  We set our expectations... We wanted a boy dog and under a year old. While Regan was there trying to get the attention of a cute little boy puppy of 5 months old - Boss - Lilly came and sat beside Regan.  Boss wasn't giving Regan any attention, so Regan asked what Lilly's story was.  Lilly is a 5 year old is Retriever mix who is stressed out at the shelter and not eating.  Lilly wasn't ready for adoption but for a foster family. She needed a family to bring her into their home, normal situation so she can gain weight and get back healthy.

They said she was a good running buddy and since it was thursday, I had the Lulu run club! I met Regan off Woodruff Road... met Lilly and then she came with me too Lulu!  We ran 3 miles! Lilly did great... Kind of skiddish and scared of traffic!

We continued to make Lilly a part of our family and Neo welcomed her into our family!! After a week, we decided that we wanted to adopt her after we were able to adopt her.  On Monday October 15, all 3 of us went to the shelter and completed the paperwork for her adoption!!  So as of Monday, Lilly is now a GREEN!!
I will share Lilly's background story in another post......

Lilly had her own water bowl at Cantinflas Mexican in downtown greenville!

Welcome Lilly to the Green family!!!!
